I’ve been to London on a few occasions but had never made it to Fortnums so when Sally from @gettingstuffdoneinheels suggested that we go there for lunch after attending the Laura Ashley press event together I jumped at the chance! I had always wanted to visit this beautiful store and it certainly didn’t disappoint with its sense of occasion and stunning decor.  I’m so glad that my first time here was at this time of year as it was so wonderfully special to visit it in all it’s Christmas glory.  Everything about this store is magnificent and I could literally have wandered around it all day. We were particularly impressed by the old wooden staircase with its red velvet banister and it was decorated so beautifully with lots of sparkling baubles in vibrant colours. 

We had a delicious lunch in the parlour and the view from the window was just stunning looking out to beautiful old buildings and gorgeous Christmas trees.  Sally and I had such a great time chatting and laughing non stop and after lunch we went upstairs to visit their Christmas shop where I could have spent an absolute fortune!! I was very proud of myself for resisting the box of sparkly macaron tree ornaments and managed to restrain myself quite admirably I felt lol! Of course I had to buy a little thing each for my grandchildren Joshua & Lydia and I chose a little aeroplane for Joshua and a gorgeous little first Christmas horse for Lydia.

It was a truly special experience and a day I’ll always remember. And made extra wonderful by being there with the gorgeous Sally!
