My Christmas decorating always starts at my front door as it’s the first impression people have of your home and I like it to reflect my general Christmas decor.  This year I bought a heart wreath from my local garden centre and added some ribbon & a vintage brooch to it. I had picked up some beautiful blue lanterns earlier this year from a local interiors shop and put some vintage Christmas baubles and candles inside them and they matched perfectly with my Laura Ashley bauble doormat.

I have a large collection of vintage glass baubles from around the 1950s and they always form a large part of my Christmas decor. My sister picked me up a gorgeous antique gold frame for a pound and it’s perfect for showcasing some of my favourite baubles. I also have some displayed in glass jars and Cakestands and also use them as table decor.

I decided to decorate my mantel and fireplace exactly as I did last year with vintage postcards strung along it with little pegs and mini bottle brush trees etc. The illustrations on these old postcards are so beautiful and I love reading all the old messages written on them.

I incorporated my collection of vintage tins into my Christmas decor this year and put some under the trees in the living room and dining room. The Quality Street ones are particularly pretty and I was lucky enough to find a few pink ones which suits my love of pastels perfectly!  The pink Louis Sherry tin is one of my absolute favourites and it is sitting on my sideboard with some baubles and paper fans.

The tree in my living room is decorated with pastel pinks and blues with lots of sparkling iridescent crystals which are fabulous as the light catches them beautifully and adds lots of magical twinkles to it.  On my dining room tree I mainly use pinks and I got a few gorgeous new decorations this year from John Lewis including a little pink camera and pink phone which were perfect and I’ve shown lots of the details on my Insta Stories recently.

I always do a little bit of Christmas crafting and like to make some little jars etc for popping in with Christmas gifts and this year I used Christmas ribbon and belle & boo Christmas fabric to make some cute jars which are perfect for a tealight or candy canes.  I also made a vintage brooch wreath and a couple of little fairies which were quite time consuming to make but I was delighted with how they turned out.

This year I have a mini tree in the kitchen in a pink bucket with little pastels baubles and a lovely Laura Ashley advent calendar with little polar bears and stars next to it and I have copper wire fairy lights dotted everywhere as they are super effective and so pretty!

As usual I  have used lots of cake stands & glass cloches to create little Christmas scenes around the house and I even sneaked a tiny bit of Christmas decor into our bedroom by adding a little Christmas cushion and some fairylights.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this little Christmas tour of my home and I’m going to do a separate post on my Christmas table later on this week.

  1. What’s not to love! Such a lovely tour, if pushed to choose a favourite, it would be your beautiful fairy, your tea lights idea ( which I copied)? And the postcards❤️ To be honest all of it✨ Happy Christmas✨?Alison ?
